Behind every successful volunteer organization, there is a group of dedicated individuals who possess the drive, spirit and inspiration to guide the everyday administrative functions, create and implement innovative ideas and to sustain the vision of the Mission Statement controlling the path and focus of the group.
We are a parent-run organization that provides support to both parents and educators. We are funded through gifts from other organizations and grants. Our accomplishments include providing: equipment and materials for teachers, including audio books, whisper phones, Smart Boards and speech instruction tools; funding for teacher training; support in the implementation of the Wilson Reading Program; informational emails, workshops and materials to parents; coordination of the Reading Room in Verona Park, including author visits; sponsorship of the Lunch and Bunch program at the Middle and High Schools; support for training buddy mentors for the Verona Recreation programs; sponsorship of educational field trips; academic achievement awards for special education students.
